Jaitley writes to PM - Please excuse me this time

By TIOL News Service

NEW DELHI, MAY 29, 2019: THE Modi Sarkar 2.0 is all set for the swearing-in ceremony tomorrow. But, one face the nation is not going to see in the new Council of Ministers is that of former Finance Minister, Mr Arun Jaitley - a suave and soft-spoken politician with natural flair for oratory since his school days.

In a formal letter addressed to the Prime Minister, Mr Jaitley has urged Mr Modi to excuse him from any fresh responsibility in the new Government on health ground. But, only for some time till his doctors advise him to go back to active life.

He has stated in his letter that for the past 18 months he has undergoing treatment for some illness and he needs time to recoup.
